After all of the matches are completed, India must finish in the top three in the group (top four if the Philippines finish in the top three) to qualify for the 32-team FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, which will be held in August-September of following year.
The Philippines and Japan, who are in Group F, have already qualified for the 2018 World Cup since they are the tournament’s co-hosts. In the 18 editions of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, India has never qualified for the main draw. Aside from beginning at the bottom of the table, India, placed 82nd in the most recent FIBA basketball rankings, is also the lowest-ranked team in Group E.
In the current global rankings, Saudi Arabia is ranked 80th, Jordan is ranked 39th, and Lebanon is ranked 54th.
